Missing target costs on production order

Hello,
who can tell me at what point a released cost estimate must be available to generate target costs on a "normal" production order.
- Save
- Release
- ??
just before the WE is in any case too late

    Hello,
Do you mean by "released cost estimate" the standard product cost estimate or the production order cost estimate? For the target costs, you only need the latter, and it does not have to be released separately, but is created by default when the order is costed. If this is not done, no costing variant is assigned to the order type in the plant-dependent data, or it is incorrect.
    Many greetings,
    Martin

    Hello Martin,
I already need the "correct" target costs from the released product costing. The planned costs from the target cost version 1 are not sufficient for me. If the cost estimate is released with CK24 only shortly before WE, i.e. after EROF or free of FAUF, then this only leads to residual variances in KKS1/KKS2.
    Greetings

    Hello Berhard,
well, then it depends on when the production order is costed - you can set it to be costed automatically when you save it or manually. But at the latest when it is released, there should be a valid costing.
    Many greetings,
    Martin

    Hello all,
I am currently working on the topic of variance analysis for production orders.
In variance costing, the actual costs incurred for a production order are normally compared with the target costs according to the standard costing for production materials.
I now have the problem that it does not show me any target costs in the system in transaction CO 03.
Thank you very much for constructive hints.

    Hello Ackermann,
Have you already costed the order? What messages does the system output during costing?

    Hello
The target costs are only displayed if a released standard cost estimate exists before the production order is created and a GR has already been posted for the production order (i.e. an actual quantity).

    Hello together,
I will try it out right away. This could also be the solution, because at the moment we do not save any current standard cost estimates. Is there also the possibility to set the target costs equal to the planned costs via customizing?
    Thanks a lot

You define which reference value is used for the target costs in Customizing: marked cost estimate, planned costs of the FAUF etc.

    That sounds good.
In that case I will try to use the planned costs. This way I can save saving a standard cost estimate.
Thank you and have a nice weekend
