you no longer need a day ledger in SAP S/4HANA. And it has been since 2018!

A daily ledger would store the data identically to the associated monthly ledger. Reprting has to add up the line items either way. Therefore, a daily ledger no longer makes sense. It is best not to introduce it at all or to deactivate it! It is unnecessary data volume!

FI-SL Ledger would be a very old way of mapping a daily ledger in SAP S/4HANA. See above, not necessary and there will be no Fiori UI's for FI-SL, which is another reason not to do this.

In SAP S/4HANA you should only use the report RFBILA00N. This currently enables balance sheets per key date, but falls back to the respective period. The background to this is that the RFBILAs read the data like the former FAGLFLEXT table.

How can you create a daily balance sheet in SAP S/4HANA?

There are various options depending on the requirements.

1. Fiori App Trail Balance (Fiori ID W0996), this can output the calendar days (regardless of whether there are documents on the calendar day or not). Periods are of course not possible, as you no longer have this. But calendar days should be easier to use than periods.
2. Balance sheet / P&L app (Fiori ID F0708 or W0161, W0177 can be tested), here you can enter a key date or even a timestamp and thus create the reporting.
3. Display of GL line items Fiori App ID F2217 here you can, for example, sort by posting day (only days with posted receipts appear)
4. ADB Trail Balance (Fiori ID W0166) with average balances based on the monthly ledger.

This will no longer work in the SAP GUI itself and will no longer be possible due to the SAP Fiori strategy.
