Migration Release 2021 NOT via GUI ? LTMC yes/no ?

Hello,
today I accidentally found out this !
The information is like - "With SAP S/4HANA 2021, it will no longer be possible to migrate data using transaction LTMC. It will still be possible to display existing projects, but new projects cannot be created. You can use the app Migrate Your Data - Migration Cockpit to migrate data to SAP S/4HANA.
Now it's getting crazy !
https://blogs.sap.com/2021/08/15/ltmc-mi...ed-or-replaced/
Migrate your data - Fiori / LTMC / Migration cockpit Decommissioned? or replaced
https://blogs.sap.com/2021/10/29/sap-s-4...nsport-concept/
What does that mean in concrete terms ? From release 2021 you can only MIGRATE via the APP Migrate your data ?
Does anyone have practical experience ? What has changed ?
How do I get exactly to the individual migration objects ? Where are they hidden ?
I get really nen FÖN.........Nothing else matters
So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words, I don't just say
And nothing else matters
Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters

    Hello Jens,
yes, from 2021 this is only possible via the Migrate Your Data app. But that works fine and there are all migration objects available, no need for a hair dryer! :-)
One thing to note. With this app you create projects in DEV, and then export/import the project using report /LTB/MC_PROJ_Q2P.
If you did that and have other clients in the same system (QA/PRD), you can use LTMOM to release that project.

    Hello Jens,
what do you need to migrate?
I can confirm that the Migration Cockpit works well - if you have it out. But until then, have fun sweating ;-)
We used it to cleanly migrate the chart of accounts into the system, for example. The LSMW could not keep up with the COBL fields etc..
    Best regards

    Good morning !
It's about the migration of business partners from an old ECC 6 ( Greenfield) to a new S/4 release 2021 . I have actually always been a fan of the LSMW, because the tool is easy to use. Because the business partner has many tabs, it is probably difficult with the LSMW, so that he may not record it cleanly.
Yes, SAP says LSMW is no longer supported, I know that.
But I'm also a bit surprised that SAP is now moving the migration cockpit to the APP/tile in the 2021 release.
I am a friend of innovations, probably true. But I find it extremely unfortunate that they simply cut off and take away the old-established tools from the end-user, who may have been working with the GUI for many decades. This is just my personal opinion.
    With kind regards

    Hi Jens,
The LSMW is still available and is still used in our company. Of course, it is always stupid when you are forced to use something new. Especially because the LTMC has not been around long. I have not had any complicated migration objects so far and it was quite simple with the app (export and import into QA)... I also added fields to a standard object with LTMOM, it works.
So just try with the app, if it doesn't work take the LSMW. Good luck!

    Good morning Jens,
the migration objects can still be edited under OnPremise. Noticeable difference between the FIORI App Migrate your Data and LTMC is that here certainly the migration approach has changed.
LTMC has as transfer methods transfer data from file or transfer data from staging tables.
The FIORI app Migrate your Data /Migration Cockpit has as method Migrate data directly from SAP system or Migrate data using staging tables-.
However, the previous method "transfer from file" has not disappeared but can be done in FIORI App using staging tables. To do this, a local database schema must be selected and the template file (template) can still be used.
To be fair, however, it must be said that the LTMC could also already be operated via FIORI interface.
The difference is mainly in the project creation and a little bit in the transfer / management of the migration data. Especially with regard to the retention period.
    Many greetings

Under 1809: LTMC as TAC, I had my first experience with this 5 years ago during the first S/4 implementation.
From 2020 and higher: only via Launchpad URL and App Migrationcockpit.
Select migration objects as under LTM, which also led you to the Launchpad.
GP Migration (Mig object customer and supplier) from ECC to S/4 in principle also possible without XML import tables (staging tables), if RFC exists between the systems. However, this can be complex, depends on whether migrated under old number or new number. In any case you have to set some things in LTMOM (field mapping etc.).
We have written a small program at a customer, which imports person accounts as Excel and makes GPs out of it. This was easier than setting everything in LTMOM.
When migrating from NON-SAP ERPs, this is also possible or via the staging tables for the mig objects.
Some service providers also offer training on MigCockpit, e.g. NTT Data, formerly Itelligence.
