you always have to create an accrual object first, because the accrual parameters (period, accrual amounts, etc.) can only be entered there. This is indeed a bit cumbersome. In a customer project I have implemented a customer specific function for the line item browser, which allows the user to generate accrual objects directly from the EP list.
